Sequoia Ring (Peridot)

125.00

Named after the tallest tree in the world, the setting for the gemstone is reaching for the sky!  Ok, maybe it's not quite that tall but is certainly higher than most settings.

With it's clean lines and simple design, this really is an everyday piece.  Set with a beautiful peridot, this Sterling Silver ring is certain to get people talking!

Peridot is created in magma in the earths upper mantle, about 25 to 55 miles deep, and bought to the surface by volcanic activity.  The only other gemstone that is formed in the mantle is diamond, which is formed much deeper at approx 100-150 miles deep at extreme pressure and temperature.

It is a gem quality variety of olivine and the best quality is found in Mogok in Burma, although other important deposits have been found in Pakistan, Arizona, China and Vietnam.  It has also been found in fallen meteors and also found as olivine on Mars and on the moon!

The setting stands at 8mm tall, hugging a 3mm peridot (August's birthstone).  Please let me know if you require a different size.

If you love this ring but want a different stone, don't hesitate to contact me via the Contact page to discuss this!

Your ring is hallmarked by Birmingham Assay Office and placed in a Scarlett Willow Designs Gift box.
