Jewellery is like a biography ~ a story that tells the many chapters of our life
Sterling Silver and 9ct Gold Rings
These commissions were Christmas gifts. The gold is recycled from old family jewellery that I melted down and married with the sterling silver. The rings were given a frosted finish which I think looks stunning!
Aurora Borealis Necklace
I loved making this! It was commissioned for my friends 40th birthday by her husband. She had always wanted to see the Aurora Borealis so he secretly booked a trip for them and their two boys to go to Lapland to see them....and I was the only one in one the secret! Oh the pressure to not let that slip!
So, after discussing the design for quite some time, we settled on a layered neckline piece, set with Labradorite and pink sapphire - Labradorite is said to contain the Aurora Borealis so I knew this was the prefect choice given the secret trip and sapphire is my friends birthstone.
I'm happy to report that my friend did indeed see the Aurora while in Lapland!
Family Tree Pendant
This was commissioned for a mother's 65th birthday by her three children. They are very close and liked the idea of a "family tree".
I suggested incorporating the birthstones of the three children and both parents and this is the result. Both mother and father have peridot as their birthstone so I decided to put this on the trunk of the tree to symbolise the support and love to their family. Sapphire, garnet and moonstone were placed in the branches of the tree to represent the children.
These were commissioned by lovely man for his wife's birthday. She had seen me wearing a piece with Labradorite set into it and enquired about it. Her husband later contacted me to create this earrings and necklace set. Even though the design is simple, I still think it's beautiful
Wedding Ring Spinner
A lovely lady I met didn't wear her wedding ring anymore as she preferred silver jewellery to gold. She liked the spinner ring I was wearing and so it was easy to come up with this idea - her wedding ring became the spinner!
