A number of issues which directly effect exhibitors at markets, and small shops have so stirred me that I had to respond to them by writing a blogpost. I don’t write many blogposts as writing doesn’t come naturally to me, and I also find them quite emotionally draining (especially this one!) and so they take me forever to write. Yet the issues YOU brought to my/our attention need to be addressed. Christmas is an emotionally and financially challenging time for artists & Makers & we all DESPERATELY want people to value and support you. It’s been central to our work at JAC for months. Things people say, and also how we speak and value ourselves make a big difference. That’s why I couldn’t let these issues lie. They need to be addressed.
