This week, it's Morganite's turn. I would guess that only a few of you will have heard of this beautiful stone. Morganite belongs to the same gemstone family as emerald and aquamarine, beryl It was given its name in 1911 by American gemologist George Frederick Kuntz. The majority of his career was spent at Tiffany & Co as their chief gemologist. Morganite was named after Tiffany's largest customer of the time, legendary financier and gem collector J.P. Morgan.
Morganite ranges in colour from a very definite pink to a more lilac or light violet, occasionally there can be a hint of orange; everyone is sure to find a Morganite that will suit their skintone
