The Earring Challenge Journal: Ten Pairs, Ten Stories. Fallen Blossom Earrings

Tiny Castings, Organic Flow, and a Hint of Tanzanite

The fifth pair in my earring challenge takes its cue from a favourite piece: my Fallen Blossom Ring.

I used tiny water castings, each one unique, and let them tumble after each other in an organic line. No two are the same, and the earrings aren’t identical either — they don’t match in the traditional sense, but they flow together, like scattered petals caught by the wind.

At the base of each design sits a small spark: a 3mm tanzanite, its violet-blue hue catching the light in contrast to the silver.

The result feels delicate yet full of movement — a quiet nod to fleeting blossoms, imperfect symmetry, and the beauty of natural form.

Five pairs down, five to go.
